 7. Hi Pat, it is not easy to choose just one poem, there are so many good ones. After careful consideration my choice is “Desert Storm” By Peter Bunting I remember reading this for the very first time and tears streamed down my face It touched me deeply, I so wish we could have voted for at least three. Take care, love Lee

8. My favorite poem in the book is "The Mysterious Radio" (part I and II)  by Kathleen Zvetkoff.
I like the unique and original topic as well as the really smooth
flow.  It also doesn't try to sound 'poetic' in a 'bad' way.  It was
very enjoyable and very natural feeling.  Put a smile on my face too!   So innovative!  ;-)
Sincerely, Pefy Fraser.

12. It was a hard choice, but, for the child of a very long military family, Unpaid Bills by raindance, was put so succinctly that it cut to the chase of a cause that is a blight on America, the treatment of Vietnam vets, second only to the disgrace of the Amerian government in its slowness and seemingly blind eye turned to the plight of the ninth ward of New Orleans. Thanks for the chance to vote  P.J. Belanger

13.  I cast a vote from the Great Poets 2008, for the poem, ROY, by Helen McManus.  A pet becomes a hero by sacrifice of his own life by rescuing two young girls from blaze. His devotion is what makes family pets so hard to lose; yet, his bravery is what humans can learn by... Pamela Fuller.

I kept working through the book until there was finally one that really stuck out in my mind.   Still this morning I can feel the residue of that powerful poem.  The title of that poem is "Unpaid Billsl" by J. Elwood Davis
"Unpaid BIlls" flows so beautifully and it's amazing imagery brings the Viet-vet to life.  I loved the play on words between the man's name and the "bill" we all owe them.   Take care.  Love and blessings, Lou... yoh yoh
